Introductory article for Middle-Eastern Music mailing list

Below is a list of countries which music is discussed in Middle-Eastern
Music mailing list. The list is in the map-order -- see map for details.
In some countries listed, it is played non-middle-eastern music too;
however, we should not discuss about those music.

Discussion is free, that is, people discuss on what they like to discuss.

The mailing list is digested i.e. people get one mail containing several
articles submitted within certain time period.

The mailing list is archived to
 ftp.funet.fi:pub/culture/music/middle-eastern/MEM-mailing-list/
directory. They are available via FTP or mailserver@ftp.funet.fi
(send 'help' in mail-body).

Submissions to the mailing list should be mailed to
 middle-eastern-music@ftp.funet.fi
and unsubscriptions and address changes to
 middle-eastern-music-request@ftp.funet.fi.

We should have information articles on
 -music and dance styles,
 -musical instruments,
 -history of the middle-eastern music,
 -etc.,
but we don't have yet. Any contributions are welcome.
