Description
-----------
An invaluable administrator tool, N.E.W.T. scans all
remote networked machines on single or all domains and
attempts to retrieve as much detailed information as
possible. It shows this information in a spreadsheet-like
format for a concise, overall view of your network.

Features
--------
    * Show Machine Name, IP Address,
OS with Service Pack info, Mhz. and # of CPUs,
Date and Time, Uptime, MAC Address, User Name, Domain Name and Machine Comments
    * Can save a text file for printing or archiving
    * Sends popup messages to any or all remote NT machines
    * Pings computers by IP address
    * Reboot or shutdown remote machines with countdown and the ability to abort
    * Sort ascending or descending by any column
    * Columns can be moved and resized. Positions and sizes are saved at program exit.
    * Requires no software agents installed on remote machines
    * No setup or installation required, simply extract and run the executable

Usage
-----
Start newt.exe from its current folder. Currently
there is no formal documentation.

without express written permission of Komodo Digital or its members.

Known Issues
------------
If N.E.W.T. can't determine an OS or MAC Address of a machine, it
may enter the same data as the previous machine. Also, some
MAC Addresses may be incorrect.

There may be some pieces of information N.E.W.T. can't determine
since machine configurations widely differ (OS, privileges, etc.)

N.E.W.T. running on Windows XP may have problems reading the Clock,
User and Uptime on some machines. And machines scanning Windows XP
machines may have the same difficulty.

This application does not function on Win98 or WinME.

All issues are being looked into.

Future Improvements
-------------------
The ability to save the machine list to any filename in addition to
excluding certain columns. Currently N.E.W.T. only saves the
file as "NEWT.txt" in the current folder.

An option to "rescan" selected machines.

Better optioning so each column can be enabled or disabled for
scanning rather than just showing "Option Off".

An 'Always on Top' option.

We're also researching additional information and functions that
can be exploited on remote machines such as video card and
network card installed, etc.
