                                Command : FIRE

 SYNTAX:
   [mc ##] Command : fire <SECT> <SHIPS>

The fire command allows your surface naval combat ships to bombard land sec-
tors. You specify a target sector, and a list of ships that will perform the
fire mission.

All ships participating in the bombardment must be in the same sector. The
target sector must be adjacent to the ships performing the fire mission.
Ships that do not have guns, ships without crews, shells, or mobility may not
participate in the fire mission. Each participating ship will be charged
mobility and a number of shells equal to the gunnery strength of the ship.

Each attacking ship will fire on the target sector in order, performing damage
as appropriate to the gunnery strength of the ship, random chance, and the
target sector's defensive strength. If the target sector has guns, military,
and shells, the sector will be able to fire back at each attacking ship.

Be warned that land sectors can have far more guns than the most powerful bat-
tleship, so be careful which sectors you decide to target! Luckily, however,

                                Command : FIRE

land sectors can only fire at ships in defense; they can never initiate com-
bat.
