----------------------------------------------------------
1. What ISearch Does:
----------------------------------------------------------
You've Never Really Seen The Internet Without It!

ISearch is a software utility which works closely
with the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser
to collect urls from various internet url providers
such as search engines and search or just
     navigate the urls.

It can be run fully automatic, or the user can
     guide every step.

Up to 80 search criteria can be entered.

Over 400 user controls in ISearch.

Site Data for 27 search engines preinstalled. The
user can add as many more as necessary.

    1. Simplifies searching internet databases.
    2. Simplifies browsing internet web sites.
    3. Simplifies downloading files from the internet.

ISearch will make browsing, searching the internet
so easy that it will be a fun thing to do.

----------------------------------------------------------
2. System Requirements:
----------------------------------------------------------

IE5:
ISearch requires that Microsoft Internet Explorer
Version 5.5 or later to be installed on your Computer.
It can be downloaded for free from:
    www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm

MDAC_TYP.exe (ADO = ActiveX Data Objects)
    +++++++++++++++++ ADO v2.5 - v2.8 ++++++++++++++
The reason I say you may need ADO v2.5 - 2.8 is
because ISearch requires the Microsoft Jet 4.0
database engine and Microsoft has stated that
they stopped including it in ADO (MDAC_TYP.exe) after v2.5, but
ISearch was created using v2.8 so we have a bit of a problem:

    1. ISearch requires ADO (MDAC_TYP.exe) v2.8
    2. ISearch requires Jet 4.0 DB engine which is not in ADO (MDAC_TYP.exe) v2.8
    3. Last distribution of ADO (MDAC_TYP.exe) which included the Jet DB engine was v2.5

    Conclusion:
The user may need to install both v2.5 and v2.8
If you have MS Access you should have the Jet 4.0 engine.

MSVBVM60.DLL
You may also need the Microsoft Visual Basic v6sp5
runtime files. They will not be included in all
distributions of this application. If you do not have
them they can be downloaded from the following URL
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/VBRun60sp5.exe

windows Me / XP / 2000
Some versions of Windows have MDAC_TYP.EXE and MSVBVM60.DLL
preinstalled as part of the operating system.
If you have Microsoft Access installed on your computer it will include
    the Jet DB engine.

----------------------------------------------------------
        4. Setting ISearch up:
----------------------------------------------------------

1st.Make sure you have Microsoft's Internet
Explorer Version 5.5 or later installed on
    your computer.
It can normally be found in the following directory:
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
If it is not there then you will need to install it
    before installing ISearch.

2nd.Make sure that you have the latest MDAC_TYP.exe
    installed (ADO v 2.5 - 2.8; ActiveX Data Objects)

3rd.Make sure you have the VB Runtime files installed.

4th.Run the ISearch Setup.exe file you have here.
The installation process may need to restart your
computer to update windows driver files, if so you
may need to restart setup.exe after your computer
restarts. ISearch installation will not automatically
continue where it left off. The reason for this is
that VB6 programs require DCOM older versions did not.

----------------------------------------------------------
        5. Getting Started with ISearch after installation:
----------------------------------------------------------

After installing ISearch you will find the program group by
clicking the Start menu, selecting programs, and from there
    selecting the ISearch program group.

When ISearch starts for the first time on your computer it
will create ISearch-0.mdb database file which
it will use to store all of your saved data.

Once ISearch is done creating the database all you need
    to do to is:

    1. Connect to the internet.
    2. Right click the Go button and select a search site
       from the menu.
    3. Once the site is fully loaded in Microsoft Internet Explorer
you will need to do a search on that search site:
Type some text into the search box and click their
search button (on the web browser).
    4. Once the search results are completely downloaded
click the Go button on the Auto tab of ISearch.

ISearch will automatically collect the result
links and start navigating to the web sites.

    5. To collect and save data from these sites
see the ISearch help file ISearch.chm.

----------------------------------------------------------
        6. The files that ISearch installs:
----------------------------------------------------------

ISearch will install the following files
    into the directories named:

Windows System directory: (C:\Windows\System\)
Several of these files probably existed on your system prior
to installing ISearch. They are common Microsoft
redistribution files used by a variety of windows programs.
ISearch will install them if they do not exist.

    OLEAUT32.DLL
    OLEPRO32.DLL
    ASYCFILT.DLL
    COMCAT.DLL
    WININET.DLL
    MSADOX.DLL
    MSJRO.DLL
    MSSTDFMT.DLL
    RICHED32.DLL
    MSVBVM60.DLL
    MSMAPI32.OCX
    RICHTX32.OCX
    TABCTL32.OCX
    COMDLG32.OCX
    MSINET.OCX
    MSHFLXGD.OCX
    STDOLE2.TLB

ISearch working directory: (C:\Program Files\ISearch\)
ISearch.exe [ISearch program executable]
    ISearch.chm [ISearch help file]
    readme.txt [This text file]
    Editor.exe [editor provided with ISearch]
The first time ISearch is run it will create
    ISearch-0.mdb in it's working directory.

The following entry will be made in the windows registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
   Software\
      VB and VBA Program Settings\
         (ISearch - youruserID)

----------------------------------------------------------
        7. Manually Uninstalling ISearch:
----------------------------------------------------------

If you use the control panel add/remove programs
the registry entry will not be removed.
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\(ISearch - youruserID)
Nor will the files that ISearch has created since
installation (ISearch-0.mdb, etc.) or it's directory.

1. Delete all of the above system directory entries.
(Some, or all of these DLL's, and OCX controls
may be being used by other windows programs.)

2. Delete the ISearch directory and all of it's files.

3. Delete the ISearch registry key named above.
You will need to run regedit.exe and find the key
(at the path given above) and delete it.

----------------------------------------------------------
     8. Enhancements since the previous version.
----------------------------------------------------------

Version 1.7 is the third distribution.
There have been too many updates to list.

   Several new functions and changes.
   Mostly for Manual window searches.

The only thing that has changed about the
auto window is that now it will browse the
links on any web site. If site data exists it
will use it, if it doesn't it will simply load
and browse all links on the page. Any page.

   Hundreds of bug fixes.

   Help File ISearch.chm has been
   improved significantly.
