6. History
----------

What's new in version 1.8?
--------------------------
* once again, it is freeware with all the features the shareware version had!
* added 5 music files
* set default number of operators (relative to numbers) a bit higher
* need to visit Reasonable Games website to activate Game-Options Panel
* documentation changes

What's new in version 1.7?
--------------------------
* fixed restore of a saved game (since if falling block was a special block it was changed to a zero). Also now the falling block is restarted from the top of the board.

What's new in version 1.6?
--------------------------
* Notice on game start if saved game exists.
* Practice, slow, normal & fast modes (on pull-down menu).
* Don't allow entry into hall of fame when in practice mode.
* A number of bug fixes were needed due to the introduction
  of spiked blocks in version 1.5
* bug fix - don't allow changing of bomb type if UseTimerBomb flag is off.

What's new in version 1.5?
--------------------------
* This version is shareware - Without payment, only first level accessible.
* Now two options for Pause command (lower score or blank blocks)
* Now can play music tracks (wav, mid or mp3)
  Simply copy music files to music folder.
* Can customize blow-up, paint-drop, drop block & pause key strokes.
* Now can have random background (each time game starts)
* Can quit in the middle of a game and resume playing it next time FF starts.
* more 3d-like graphics (have 3D color boxes on one layer, and simply
  have another layer on which the number gets written).
* 3 different block sets
* wide screen option (two additional columns)
* board and block size is larger (easier to see)
* no game screens on exiting the game.
* Spike Blocks - next 5 blocks that land on it will be destoyed
 (except for bomb which destroys the spikes).

What's new in version 1.3?
--------------------------
* Individual block score is greater if dropped from height
  (to be precise, score is incremented by 1/2 the number of rows dropped)
* added 'quick-calculator' for fast number crunching. Calculator can be
  turned on/off.
* When calculator is off, the tape shows the points scored by the last
  equation formed.
* For falling wild numbers, if calculator is off, you can either spin
  the block, or just hit the number you want on the keypad.
* Scoring of equation is same as before plus sum (or product) of equation
  formed (encourages use of double digit numbers and multipliers).
* Commands now in menu at top of screen
* Table of Contents added to Tutorial
* added bonus numbers - if sum of equation adds up to bonus number
 (which is between 10-99), then user gains another paint-drop
* Now two different types of bombs; normal & delayed. When a delayed
  bomb lands on a number, the number counts down slowly 5-4-3-2-1-0
  before blowing up (effectively pausing the game for a few seconds).
  If it lands on an operator, it does nothing. User can toggle between
  bomb types while bomb is falling (using up/down arrow keys).
* New block = solid red block (good for filler - which can be blown up
  as needed).
* Allow user to alter the operator:number ratio (since if doing double/triple
  digit numbers, there are too many operators).
* Allow user to alter the number of equals signs that fall.
* Can now choose whether to include the multiplier block, red block
  and/or timer bomb.
* the top-scores file is now encrypted
* drop-down menus
* information about monthly contest added, with possibility of submitting
  scores for those who have activated all 20 levels.

What's new in version 1.2?
--------------------------
* a few bug fixes that makes the game a whole lot more stable!
* a practice mode (that goes real slow for those who need some extra time to
  learn how to play the game). It's available via the Starting Level field on
  the Options Screen.
