                             changes

there were 2 minor changes that lead to this version, both are somewhat
minor, the first being that users that have 'H' in their names in the
second position (like "SHUSTER", or "SHMUCK") could not be paged! Don't
ask me how I forgot to check for '/' as a first char for help (phonet
thought that the user was asking for help...
The second revision is a bit harder to explain, for one thing- PhoNET is
supposed to be used in small networks (like mine) with 1 server. I received
reports of trouble in multi-server environments and found my error. The
problem is that the PhoNET needs to stick to 1 major server so that all
PhoNET clients can use that server's SEMAPHORE capability! The change
I made requires that PhoNET be installed on 1 server and that all PhoNET
users run it from there. If you have a directory where all network utilities
are kept, I suggest you keep PhoNET there. If all users run Phonet from the
same dir (and consequently the same server...), there shouldn't be any problems.

on to bigger and better things...

                            OVERVIEW

This program is a useful utility for communicating in the same Lan
work group. this is a utility for Dos, for phoning in others in the
same Novell Server- it works in the background under windows as well as .
OS/2 (???).

calling:

Phonet USERNAME - will phone in that user, and will post a note on his
screen - saying the date and time of the phonet, and the user who initiated
it.

answering:

Phonet - will reply to that phone call.

Phonet uses IPX, and so a user is limited by the default amount of IPX
sockets available (refer to the shell.cfg doc. to increase the number). This
means that every user is limited to about 3-6 simultaneous without any
change to shell.cfg).

We've been using this utility in our net for quite some time - I hope
you will too...

I haven't tried Phonet 3.0x under WFW, NT, or OS/2 2.0 (???) as yet - if
there are any problems - please contact me at:
