UP & RUNNING: To use the hypertext system, either type GO and press ENTER
(sometimes called RETURN) at the DOS prompt or type HR4 and press ENTER at the
DOS prompt. Either of these will run the HyperRead program. Then just answer
the questions it asks you about your monitor and colors, and you are on your
way. When the program shows you the appearance of the normal and hypertext
text, be sure you can see the difference. If you cannot, answer by pressing N
when it asks you if the display is OK. Then input two numbers (separated by a
comma) to select normal text foreground and background. Then do the same for
the hypertext appearance to create a readable display.

Once the GEnieLamp is on the screen, you can move through the text using
the usual PgUp, PgDn, cursor keys, and so on. You can also search for text
by pressing the S key. You can also jump to additional information on any
subject that is hypertexted by moving the screen cursor to the text with the
cursor keys and pressing the J key. You can also position the mouse cursor on
the text and press the left mouse key. You can backtrack by pressing either
the B key or the right mouse button. You can get instant HELP in using
HyperRead by pressing the H key on your keyboard once the GEnieLamp is on the
screen. If you have any problems, complains, suggestions or questions about
the HyperRead program, please send GEnie MAIL to D.LEITHAUSER or write to
Leithauser Research, 4649 Van Kleeck Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169.

If you cannot use the hypertext program for some reason or you just don't
like hypertext, don't panic. You can still read GEnieLamp just as you normally
do by loading ILMP9310.ASC into your favorite word processor or text viewer.
