To use AirShow to fly with other flyers, you can either join an existing AirShow session or
start your own AirShow session.

Joining a currently existing AirShow Session:

1) Run PRE-Flight AirShow from the Desktop or the PRE-Flight Start Folder.
2) Enter your name (maximum of 8 characters only).
3) If the session you wish to join is passworded, enter the password.
4) Tick the "LAN or Local AirShow" box if the session is on your own PC (see below to
Creating an AirShow Session) or if it is in a LAN (Local Area Network). If you are joining a
session thru the internet, leave this box unticked.
5) If the session you wish to join is in the internet, enter the session's IP address. This
will be provided by the session's owner (see below).
6) Click on Join. PRE-Flight will connect to the session and you can begin to interact
with the other flyers by flying and chatting.

Creating an AirShow Session (Also see "How to Get IP Address"):

1) Run the program "AirShow Server" in the PRE-Flight folder under Programs in the Windows
Start bar.
2) The AirShow server will start with default options (see below - Configuring AirShow).
You can minimize this window if desired.
3) Invite your guests over the internet. Supply the IP address of your PC (see
"How to Get IP Address" below), and passwords if desired.
4) More advanced users can type "help" to access more command options.
5) To stop the server, simply type "stop" on the command line. Any Flyers or Spectators
still attached to the server will be disconnected without warning so as a matter of courtesy,
please make sure they all exit from PRE-Flight AirShow first.

Configuring AirShow:

1) To configure the AirShow server, Run "Configure AirShow" from the PRE-Flight Folder. DO
THIS BEFORE STARTING THE AIRSHOW SERVER.
2) To change the scenery, click on browse and select the approriate Scenery File.
3) Add or Delete Aircraft that you wish to be flyable as desired. Remember that some
model files are "non-flyable" (like trees, pylons or the PRE-Flight blimp) and will
produce weird results.
4) This version does not support more than 2 aircraft.
5) Do not add the same aircraft more than once - this is an unnecessary waste of resources.
6) The Update Frequency may be made lower to increase the accuracy of the positions and
states of the other players' models. Make it higher to support more players without
overwhelming the internet connections. If in doubt, leave it at the default of 150
milliseconds.
7) The number of players is limited to 2 on this version of PRE-Flight.
8) Set passwords (maximum of 8 characters) for players and/or spectators as required.
All passwords are case-sensitive. If a Flyer password is set, a joining player must
key in this password to fly, otherwise the player may only "watch" or be a "Spectator".
If a Spectator password is set, a joining player must key this password to join the session.
Thus, with passwords, you can control flyers and spectators.
9) Press Save to enable the settings for the next session.

How to get IP Address:

The IP address will have to be determined and then given to the people wishing to join an
AirShow session over the internet. People joining over a Local or LAN session do not need to
know the IP address. The IP address is of the form "n.n.n.n" where n is a number from 0 to 255.
No spaces are allowed (do not use the quotes).

Some PC's may display more that one IP address. The address 0.0.0.0 is not the real address.
An address starting with 198 is usually a local address and is NOT the real internet address.

Windows 95/98/ME:

1) Click on "Start" on your desktop.
2) Select "Run", then type in "winipcfg" in the box and hit "OK".
3) The real IP address is NOT "0.0.0.0". If this is all you see, click on the drop down menu
and select the next item.

Windows XP :

1) Go to Control Panel and choose Network Connections.
2) Left click on the Connection and choose Properties.
3) Choose Status and then go to the Support tab.
