PixieEngine 2.2

Windows Environment for app development using latest HTML
as a universal user interface for both desktop and web apps.
Also (origins) Windows Emulator for the Multivalue database engines 
and operating systems eg PICK, McDonnell Douglas, Reality-X, 
UNIVERSE, UNIDATA, Sequoia, mvBase 

NOTE: UNINSTALL any earlier PixieEngine,
(from Control Panel:Add/Remove Programs)
before installing PixieEngine 2.2

If you have installed "over-the-top" and you are reading
this afterwards, main cleanup advice is to delete obsolete
client program "PxEngLink.exe" and make sure you are using
the new "PixieLink.exe" as your interface.

  * DotNET programming support.

Operates as full multi-user industrial version for 30 day trial.
Personal Edition licence (2 users, Jet/Access Datastore) is free
but we do require you to register with us.

Install prerequisite = MDAC 2.1 or above.
Requires dotNET runtimes installed only if using dotNET.
To use Oracle as a datastore, requires Oracle's "OraOLEDB".
To use MySQL as a datastore, requires MyODBC 2.50 Production

To Install: 

1.  Download "PixieEngine.zip" 

2.  Unzip it into a folder or install
    directly from "Winzip"

3.  Run "Setup.exe" (if you don't have "Winzip")

4.  For an immediate test, run "PixieLink" from the Menu.
    Or, via "Windows Explorer", this is file "PixieLink.exe" 
    usually installed into "C:\Program Files\PixieLink\".

    Login as supplied in the download:
    UserName = "john"
    Password = "john"

    Try "who", "listu", "listf", 
    "umenu" - for the example app with menus
    "stest1" - for script-program demo
    "dot1" - for test example running on dotNET

    Try "admin" for item copy, import, export utilities.
 
    To end a PixieEngine session, "exit", "off" or "lo"


5.  Run the "Console" program and click on "Help".
    Chapter 2 gives setup details.
    Help is available directly from the .htm files
    in subfolder "Help"
