This message comes with Version 1.1 (03txm11.zip). All features should now be working.

Taxman 2003 is an income tax preparation program for all of Canada save Quebec. It should be used along with the Revenue Canada guides and forms for your area. Taxman prints Revenue Canada accepted forms for the 2003 tax year.

To install: double-click on setup.exe
The first time you install Taxman, if asked, do not replace any newer files that you already have on your computer. Only replace files if Taxman fails to work.
After setup, you launch Taxman by pressing the Start button, then going to Programs, then Taxman, and finally clicking Taxman 2003. There should also be a shortcut on your Desktop and another in the folder where you installed Taxman.
If you are installing a 2003 Taxman Upgrade, you must already have installed the Taxman 2002 or 2003 full program. The full program can be downloaded free from WinSite.com.
You uninstall Taxman through the Control Panel and Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall will not remove msacc8.olb and vba332.dll. These files are in the folder 'Program Files\Common Files\Taxman' and you can delete them and the folder if you want.

Bugs found to date: Nothing yet.

Please e-mail the Taxman at gthompson@pacificcoast.net with any problems or comments.

Before mailing your return, check the list of all program errors found to date on the Taxman web page (http://pacificcoast.net/~gthompson/).

Replacing Data Files:
Your data is saved in two files: taxbiz.mdb, 03tables.mdb. If you replace one version of Taxman with a newer, your data files are normally never replaced - but wierd things can happen. Therefore to be totally safe, backup these files before moving to a newer version.
If because of bug a data file has to be replaced, you must first rename the old file (which will hide it). As an example, if 03tables.mdb is to be replaced: rename 03tables.mdb to old03tables.mdb and then setup.exe will install a new empty 03tables.mdb. After you boot the program, on the menu use 'Data Transfer\Get All' to copy in all the old data.
