I'll be spending a week in June near San Francisco. Anybody have any
suggestions as to where I might be able to do some buggying? I'd be willing to
drive a few hours in any direction.

Thanks,

The primary buggy location is Cesar Chavez Park in Berkeley; the park is
near the marina, which is located at the west end of University Avenue.

Depending on which week in June you are here, and what happens at June's
meeting of the Waterfront Commission, buggying may or may not be allowed
at the park.

Last night's meeting of the Waterfront Commission resulted in a lifting
of the temporary suspension of buggying activities at the park while
City Staff prepares a report for the Commission.

If you'd like to write a letter on behalf of this issue ....

Anne

Ann has already sggested the Berkley Marina which is excellent, but
the North Beaches of San Francisco (Ocean Beach) is also excellent.
this area offers loooong rides on the correct tides. It is not
impossible to travel fifteen miles before turning around. Like many
urban beach areas this one has many users (sun bathers, fisherfolk,
etc. ). Courtesy goes a long way to acceptance in this area.

I live in Monterey.
About 2 hours south of San Fran.
During low tides we often buggy the local beach.
I also use the nearly abandoned airfield at the old Ft. Ord.
I have buggyed at the parking lot at Laguna Seca racetrack.
Beaches around here are narrow so low tides are important.
Always be careful around the ocean.
Let me know when you are in the area, I have Tues. and Wed. off.
Soon to be Tues. and Thurs.
Perhaps we can meet and buggy somewhere.
