It is sponsored by the Northern California Kite Club, and is a sanctioned AKA and regional AKM event. Besides a full slate of events, including lunch, t-shirts, single line demos, and "people's choice awards", there will be an emphasis on the novice and intermediate classes. This is a one day event that will use league style precision (except for novice and juniors) and will be governed by the current AKA rulebook. Contestants must be AKA members in good standing. For the ballet events, contestants must supply music in cassette format only. Registration is $35/person which includes t-shirt and lunch. There will be all classes in the individual events and the team, pairs and quad line ballet will be run as open events. Contestants must declare competition class in open events. The flying fields will be 300 feet square, at Ocean Beach. Normal winds are 5-15 mph, and glassy smooth right off the water out of the west. A wonderful opportunity to spend a day (or two) of flying, and then to have the holiday weekend to visit the romantic city of San Francisco and nearby area.
