Subject: Rok Battle at OBSKC

I was talking with Chris Shultz of Kitty Hawk Kites about the
upcomming Outer Banks Stunt Kite Championships (Oct 8-9). He
said they were considering the addition of a Rokkaku battle to
this years event but weren't sure if there would be any interest.

So how 'bout it. Anyone interested in bring their Rok to the Outer
Banks and getting crazy? Chris did say that the site for this
years event is moving from Jockey's Ridge to the First Flight
Elementary and Middle School immediately south of the Wright
Bros Monuments so there won't be the added enjoyment of running
up and down steep dunes of loose sand while fighting Roks. :-(

Sincerely wish we could be there! The Millenium Warrior
(please recall the Smithsonian rok battle this year) put in a fine
showing at a recent Toronto Kitefliers festival. Sadly, we've been
teaching battle techniques to various people all year, and it's
getting harder to win the battles! Gotta learn to keep my yap
shut;-)
