Well, to update my previous posting I would like to take a moment to let
everyone know that the Miami Beach Kite Show April 20th & 21st is shaping
up to be a spectacular show.

On our list of guest flyers we have Thorsten Schact, Hans Faerch-Jensen,
Herman Woldsgarrd-Iverson, Michael Gressier, Frederique Barbier, Michael
Alvares, Manuel Mercado, Randy Tom, Peter Dolphin, Peter Lynn, Linda
Johnston-Murosako, Tony Wolfenden, Jan & Wilma Fischer, Katsutaka & Ken
Murooka, Jeanne & Ray Merry, Lee Sedgewick, and Sue Taft.

They will be flying single and dual line kites from around the world. I
hope if you have the time you will come and participate in this great
event.

Rick and Linda Gelinas of Delphi Institute have been working non-stop for
3 months to put this festival together. Their main reason for this event
is to gain support for their educational programs, "Little Acorns" and
"Kids n' Cops n' Kites". The work they do in the Miami area is amazing.
Their program "Little Acorns" involves family learning workshops, helping
parents and children develop positive attitudes about themselves, their
abilities, and their responsibilities. They learn skills in
communication, problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution.
Their other program "Kids 'n Cops n' Kites" was created to bring kids and
cops together, with the hopes that they will become friends. As we all
know most inner-city children, either from the example of their older
friends/siblings or parents, learn early that the police officer is their
enemy. This program brings kids and cops together to build kites and spend
some time together flying so the kids learn that a police officer is a not
only a person but can also be a trusted friend.

This kiting event is not only good for ALL of the kiting community but
essential to the local community itself.
