We are announcing our 6th Annual Miami Beach International Kite Festival on the weekend of April 12-14, 1996, on South Beach in the beautiful ART DECO DISTRICT. We welcome all flyers and non-flyers to come down and enjoy this event in the warm sunshine. It is a very relaxed event - NO SCHEDULES - just put your kite up and fly. Among the flyers confirmed to come in are: Tom Castleman - bringing many rare and rarley seen (outside of China) kites along with his regular show of show kites. Bob Anderson - (owner of some of the world's largest kites) Bob will be brining several of his baskets, lifting foils, and other giant sky toys (no telling what he'll put up). David Greene (not yet confirmed - but looking good) - David is the manufacturer of several of Bob Anderson's large (gigantic) kites. Not sure what he'll bring, but I understand the show will be spectacular. Larry and Cheryl Gleckner - Those of you that frequent kite festivals on the East Coast should be familiar with their "line laundry" (as they call it) - They have large frogs, centipedes, pigs, gold fish, etc. Their show should be quite interesting. Bruce Flora - Bruce (of EPCOT show fame) will have a number of kites and toys he uses in his shows along with 100 ft. Peter Lynn Octopus, sky tubes, flow forms, and he promises other surprises. Stretch Tucker - Stretch always has wonderful things to fly. Mike and Dawn Simmons - Peter Lynn Trilobyte, Pierre Fabre Needle, giant dragonfly, and some of Mike's cellular creations. Blue Water Productions - a team of champion sky divers and ultra-lite pilots that will be putting on shows throughout the weekend. Launching by boat. They have done shows across the globe. I have worked with them at Disney shows before, and this is a pair you've gotta meet. Tom & Sue Mason - They will be doing a Regional Competition for Sport kites. As you can see, this year's festival should be another great one. Our weather should be sunny and warm with 12 MPH breezes off the ocean. The hotel is 200 feet from the flying area. Yes, its true. Dean is now making large inflatable kites. He is now working on some new creations for 1996. He will be bringing them to Miami.
