The second annual Lee Toy Memorial Fly will be held Sunday April 17 on the lovely Marina Green in San Francisco, from 11 am "until the last fliers leave" For more information, you can contact George at (707) 935-1212 or e-mail kiteman@well.sf.ca.us Last year's event, the *First* Annual Lee Toy Memorial Fly, was a really wonderful event. Lots of folks showed up, many whom we had not seen in quite a while, to enjoy the wind and the company and to reminisce. Many brought out their own Lee Toy creations - neat stuff! It was a very friendly, companionable event with no competitions, your basic fun fly. Lew Lewandowski got a hold of the famous "wine bottle" wind sock Lee made which was featured in the 1989 Guiness Book of World Records. You didn't have to know Lee to show up, of course. There will be plenty of folks there to tell you all about him. He published a monthly newsletter, traveled extensively, created wonderful flying things, and helped to run and organized many kite events. He was also a wonderful, giving, person. Lee Toy died of AIDS. If you can attend this event, then do so.
