This is to show people that kite jumping is NOT the thing to get interested in.
A good friend of mine, and a great kiteflyer, Fractured his ankle while
kite jumping last weekend. This person is VERY experienced with kites and
should have known better, but things can get out of control fast. The
above mentioned person was flying a three meter Quad Trac in winds that
ranged from 15-18 MPH with gusts to 22. On the third jump, a gust carried
him about 30 feet downwind and dropped him fast resulting in the above
mentioned broken ankle. (landed on grass) This person is now off his feet
for about 6 weeks! BTW this person does not read Rec.kites so he was not
aware of the "kite jumping is for morons" motto.
Choose for youself!!
Later, John (who doesn't jump!)
Get your thrills on a buggy instead.............
