Anyway, he likes to build one (a model, however, not a real 34.000 m^3 one) and would be glad to get some good plans or hints, e.g. how to warm up the air inside the balloon instead of burning the forrest out- side the balloon. I heard that in the german Maus-Netz, there must be a plan but I could not find it. So if someone could email me the plan or at least let me know where exactly to find it, I would owe U something. Thanx, Robert. btw: I know the plan from DraMa, so no need to tell me there is one. _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ Robert _/ No problem is so big that it can't be solved by a good miracle! _/ _/ _/ (robert.pudlo@dbag.ulm.DaimlerBenz.com) ^ _/ _/ _/ oracle? _/ _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Thu, 3 Nov 1994 04:34:04 -1000 From: kml@mathcs.emory.edu (Kevin Lahey) Message-Id: <39ascs$qms@emory.mathcs.emory.edu> Organization: Emory University, Dept of Math and CS Subject: Re: hot-air-balloon In article <9411021213.AA09405@dagobert>, Robert Pudlo wrote: >a friend of mine asked me to look for a plan how to build a "hot-air- >balloon" or whatever the thing is called in correct terms (these hot- >air-elevated pieces of waisted ripstop - they should give all these >balloons to us kiters, we would know how to recycle them to something >of real use!). >Anyway, he likes to build one (a model, however, not a real 34.000 m^3 >one) and would be glad to get some good plans or hints, e.g. how to >warm up the air inside the balloon instead of burning the forrest out- >side the balloon. Check out Drachen Magazin, Februar/Marz/April 1994. They have a nice article on a teddy-bear lofting hot air balloon, complete with a a radio controlled propane burner, just like the real thing. There appear to be some straightforward plans for the balloon envelope, as well. Although the balloon appears to be 5m or so high, I'm sure your friend could scale down the balloon as necessary. What a wonderful magazine! It really makes me wish that I'd paid a little more attention during those German classes in school. If only I'd known what wonderful stuff gets published only in German, I sure would have studied harder!
