The GOOD news is that, after 33 years at this job, I will no longer have to travel that rut. I will be able to get up in the morning when my body is finished sleeping. I will be able to eat when I am hungry and not when it is "lunch time". I can shop in the stores in the middle of the week while most other people are working. I can spend lots more time with my wife who has been with me through all these years. I can spend a lot more time flying my kites. I will fly on the field while others are at work and then I can come to the field to socialize when they get off from work. I will be writing the 2nd book which will focus on Ballet and reveal my systematic approach to choreography. I hope to surprise some of you by just showing up unannounced at your festivals around the country. It will be nice to not have to schedule my travels based on someone elses priorities. The BAD news is that I will lose my connection to the inter- net and rec.kites. After I get adjusted to the reduced income of retirement, I will try to get my home computer tied in so that I can resume participation in this wonderful exchange of informa- tion. Until then, Keep your: chin up, kite up, and spirit up Ron Reich = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Date: Tue, 1 Nov 1994 10:43:24 -1000 From: afn06845@freenet3.freenet.ufl.edu (tim s. elverston) Message-Id: <39699c$mg5@freenet3.freenet.ufl.edu> Organization: Alachua County Freenet Subject: Re: Farewell-Ron Reich Depending on where you are some community colleges have free access to computers with modems. It's been a real pleasure seeing him fly on the circuit. I'm sure we will miss him, but I do look forward to him surprising some of us. I know the Great Lakes Stunt Kite Championship has not always been the best weather, but I sure hope he'll visit us in the midwest when he gets a chance. If you have time, Ron, please try to make it to the North Coast Stunt Kite Games, which is usually scheduled around July 4th. It's a very special and fun get together. The only competition is at the pot-luck and the raffle, everything else is strictly fun! Having had the good fortune to retire 3-years ago (at age 52), I find the greatest delight in being at the field by 11:30am and already be flying when the "lunchers" race around trying to gleen a few precious moments with a kite in the sky. My relaxed attitude these days puts them all off - good naturedly. I return to the field by 4:00pm to repeat the ritual. When things get a little crowded, I relinquish the precious sweet spot to those who get crowded out. I AM A "HERO" ONCE AGAIN (in the eyes of those who fly here) and it feels good!!! Please enjoy your retirement and now --- get to work! You will get busier than you have ever been, with the prime exception of doing all those things you have always wanted to take the time to enjoy.
