They're not required to be anonymous. Mine isn't.

Hm. I have a response to this (about my entry), but I *do* agree with you,
and therefore I will withhold it.

I will not be discussing the entries, except at a *very* technical level.
(For example, if there's a bug which I've figured out how to work
around. People might want to know this. Or if someone is stuck and the
required hints aren't clear enough to get them through. But I will be
reluctant to do even this.)

I will certainly be avoiding any posts that contain people's opinions;
but I can't tell without reading the post, can I? and I might not avert
my eyes fast enough. (As a contestant, I don't get to vote in the main
competition, but there is a separate contestants'-choice prize.)

And *yes* I am concerned about my opinion being influenced. I know how
easily it will happen. And a ballot is a very different thing from a
concensus decision. (Just look at the lunacy my country is currently
undergoing.)

Oh, and in answer to another question: Everyone judges. Anyone can vote
except for contestants and entry beta-testers. "You are bound on your
honor to play as many as possible and give each of them an equal chance."
Thus saith the rules. See /if-archive/games/competition96/rules.txt.
