I'm wondering if anyone has details on the formats for Infocom data
files and details for how to interpret them. I'm interested in English
descriptions of the file formats, op-codes, etc. Has anybody written
this stuff up? I'm interested in ZIP versions 1-5 so that I could run
any of the games included in the Lost Treasures releases.

I'm aware that there are several interpreter implementation available
on the net. I'm interested in a specification for the interpreter, not
an implementation! I'm familiar with the techniques required to
implement interpreters in a number of programming languages. As part
of learning a new dynamic language, I'd like to try to implement the
Infocom interpreter. Having C code around would either make things too
easy, or lock me into a non-dynamic mode of thinking. Besides, it
would be nice to have some of the Lost Treasures available on the
machine where I'd be writing this stuff...

Having said that, where should I look or whom should I contact to
obtain details about the Infocom interpreter? I seem to recall that
there was an InfoTaskForce (?) that implemented a portable interpreter
in C. Are they still around? Am I even in the right newsgroup?

Help! Thanks...
