But you see, your cleverness in defeating my cleverness does not address the
thing at hand. The author can't drop by and retro-fix for every creative
thing the player tries. Never be able to catch 'em all.

Which is why I suggest what I think is a fairly safe, easy, and flexible
mechanism for keeping the player informed of what they can do.
