You're trusting that Acme Damm Liying Walk-Thru, that's what you're doing
wrong.  It is quite possible to get that axe over to the other side.  You
can't follow it that way, but if you "look" and "examine" places carefully,
you'll see a way.  It may be easier if you work from the other side: cross
without the axe and see if you can find somewhere that makes the bells of
"a-ha!" go off in your head.
