Lord Dunsany, born Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett in 1878, the 18th Baron Dunsany,
was one of the original fantasy writers, his short stories of exotic lands and forgotten
Gods a major influence on many who came later, especially H.P. Lovecraft, whose
"Dream Cycle" tales, among others, are written in a 'Dunsanian' style.
