This is a reply to the post about video memory writing
(jon?).  I didnt place the VIDEO_INDEX and 
VIDEO_SELECTOR in my source, because I forgot to.  
You can find where to place these items in the protect.h 
file, which is for protected mode stuff.  If you look in 
protect.h you will see other selectors(i.e. 
VIDEO_SELECTOR), anyway place your new selector 
VGA_SELECTOR as the last selector and find the hex 
value that it should be.  I think you had 13hex but I 
could be wrong.  And for the index, place after the last 
index VGA_INDEX, might be after ETH0_INDEX or 
something.
