INTRODUCTION:
=============

This is an xcbi version of the SisalCity environment. (Xcbi is a configurable
button interface for UNIX programs. See patchlevel.h for latest
version number.)

SisalCity runs under the X Window System version 11, Release 4.
The configuration is provided via many setup files in SCITY directory.

See the xcbi man page for some of the details on xcbi's operation and
capabilities.

INSTALLING:
===========

1) Scity will look for the setup files in a central directory,
   SETUPDIR, if it can't find them locally. By default SETUPDIR is
   $(LIBDIR)/xcbi, where $(LIBDIR) is your X11 library directory. If
   this is inappropriate, edit the Imakefile and change the definition
   of SETUPDIR.

2) Then type:

	xmkmf (or whatever you use to make a Makefile from an Imakefile)
	make depend clean
	make
	make install (you might need to be root)

   Note: Ignore any errors from makedepend on Table.c.

   If you are not root, you must add the file XCbi.ad to your X
   defaults. This can be done by inserting the file into your
   .Xdefaults file or by using "xrdb -merge XCbi.ad".

3) Run an example with:

	scity (no arguments)

   Scity should read in the file scity.setup in the SETUPDIR and
   present you with a set of pull down menus and a message window.
