     SAVING FILES(S)

The `Save Temp Files' action allows the user to copy and
save any of the temporary files created during the execution
     of a program flow graph.

     USAGE

When selected, a window entitled `Saving Temporary Files'
will come up which contains the names of all the intermedi-
ate files created during the current cantata session. Any
of the files listed can be individually saved for reuse at a
     later time.

When `Save Temp Files' is selected, a list of all current
temporary filenames (see description below) is displayed,
from which the user chooses by clicking on the desired
files. A star will appear to the left of each selected file.
After all selections have been made, clicking on `Use' will
then bring up each temporary filename in turn, and a prompt
to type in a permanent name to be assigned to that file. A
new name must be chosen since all temporary files are
deleted at program termination. When all of the desired
file names have been entered, clicking on the `SAVE' will
     save the specified files.

If the user decides NOT to save any of the temporary files,
simply click on the `Cancel' button on the `Saving Temporary
     Files' window.

     TEMPORARY FILE NAMES

To determine the name of a temporary file, position the
mouse cursor on the connection representing the desired file
and click. A window containing the filename as well as
source and destination glyph routines will appear. (You may
`DELETE' the connection at this point, `SAVE' the
corresponding file under a permanent name, or `RETURN' to
     the workspace.)

The temporary file names are constructed by using the first
five letters from the first five letters in the name of the
routine which produced the file (for example, the output of
a vadd routine would look like: vaddXXXXXXXXX), the next
four letters are made alphabetically from the order of crea-
tion of the file, and the last five letters/numbers are the
     process id for cantata.
