     DEFINE VARIABLES / EVALUATE EXPRESSIONS

The `Variables' subform is used to define variables and
evaluate expressions within the cantata visual language pro-
gramming environment. An "interactive entry window" accepts
user input in the form of arithmetic or logical expressions
using the standard C language operator syntax and certain
predefined constants and functions (see documentation on
specific features). "Action buttons" provide feedback to
     the user via pop-up windows.

     ACTION BUTTONS

LIST Used to list the current value of all user defined
variables and functions. To update the list, you
must QUIT the pop-up and then click on `LIST' to
               get a new listing.

HISTORY Used to display a history listing of all previ-
ously entered valid expressions and functions. To
update the list, you must QUIT the pop-up and then
click on `HISTORY' to get a new listing.

HELP Provides documentation concerning the use of the
               VARIABLES subform.

CLOSE The CLOSE button removes the `Variables' subform
from the display screen. All variables remain
               active.
