Annotation files are ASCII files describing the objects that have been created
for use as annotations. This allows the user to save a set of annotations for
later use. To save an annotation file, go to the "File" pane,
enter the desired filename in the "SAVE ANNOTATIONS" parameter box,
and press the <cr> key. The objects currently annotated on the
graphics workspace will be saved along with their colors and positions in
an ASCII file for later use.
.LP
Note that positions are saved in ABSOLUTE coordinates. This implies
that when an annotation file is read back in by filling in the filename in the
"GET ANNOTATIONS INPUT" parameter box and pressing <cr>,
objects will automatically be placed in their previous positions.
If the workspace from which the annotations are saved is different in size from
the workspace into which the annotations are read back in, objects will remain
in their original absolute places. Thus, if the original workspace
was larger than the new workspace, some objects may not appear until the new
workspace is resized to be at least as large as the original.
.LP
Once an annotation file has been read in and the annotations placed on
in the workspace, objects may be moved, copied, deleted, raised or lowered
as usual.
