Patched up; works fine. I'm running with that set of regex-patches
from USENET (gnu.emacs.sources) that gives it shy-grouping, and
non-greedy and {x,y} style quantifiers. It runs just fine; the regex
patches function, and nothing seems to have been broken by them,
AFAICT.

* Somehow it deleted all of the customizations I had in my ~/.emacs
file. They just disappeared--- very annoying. And now customize
faces blonks (or would if this darn sound-driver worked right), and
says 'wrong type argument: overlayp'. <*sigh*> I sent a couple of
pr's.

I cannot figure out how to get the 'site-load.el' thing to work. I
put the included lisp files into the Makefile.in.in and reconfigured,
but when I built it, it said that doc strings are lost for all of
them. What's wrong???
