Subject: Question about gud.el and gdb.el

I'm working on syncing the comint stuff with FSF. The only really,
really bad part is what to do about gud.el which is vastly different.
It looks like the XEmacs version is pretty out of date (but it does
use annotations).

Can anyone offer some advice? I'd imagine the FSF versions are pretty
good (pending some porting work to XEmacs) since gdb is their baby.
Maybe more to the point, is anyone interested in maintaining these two
puppies?

[I'm tempted to axe gdb.el and take 19.34's gud.el so you
 better speak up].
