O.K.  That answers another question too (does XEmacs need Motif 2).  I
believe Lesstif is Motif 1.2 emulation.

But you're using mwm.  I'm using olvwm, and Motif doesn't recognize
the resource

There are still some irritating oddities with respect to input focus
which I haven't totally isolated, but I'm going to continue using this
for awhile and see how well it stands up.
