Update: I have 3 C patches that need to be applied.

1. Please apply the GIF patch I posted.

2. I have a patch for Native sound with the Commercial version of the
sound driver (Larry Auton posted it to the list). This affects
    Linux and BSD.

3. I have a patch for Wnn6 & 64 bit architectures. I'm going to be
making a corrected tarball with those patches and will upload it
to ftp.xemacs.org hopefully within a couple of hours.

(You're going to have to trust me on this, but 20.1 must get out this
week. As of this morning, 20.2-beta1 is on indefinite hold.).

Yes.

This is the Latin-1 configuration.

I don't see a special need for this.

Having support for Canna and Wnn4 compiled in does not require that it
must be used, nor that their respective daemons be running.
Presumably Wnn6 has the same properties as Wnn4 in this respect.
Support for Wnn4 and Wnn6 is incompatible, so you can only have one or
the other.

Basically compile in as many input methods as you have system support
for -- as many of XIM, Canna, and Wnn4 as you can manage.

O.K. Do what you can. I'm not sure what kind of configurations
people really want and need at this point.
