As I've said before, I'd love to be able to just cvs update.

The beauty of this would be that mods could be made incrementally, and
although you could periodically apply symbolic tags to mark specific
betas, interim patches, etc. would be available immediately.  Of
course, you'd probably want to configure it so that most beta testers
(e.g. Joe User types like me) wouldn't be able to commit changes...
