If you mean you don't like to be prompted for confirmation, add
revert-subdirs to dired-no-confirm, e.g.:

(setq dired-no-confirm '(compress uncompress revert-subdirs))

Guess you didn't join in time to hear me whine about this.

I wasn't fond of the new bindings at first either, but it's for
notXEmacs compatibility, so it seems the defaults should remain as
they are.

Either rebind them or get used to them.  I've done the latter.
