There are many heretics here that use ZMail even though they have the
One True Editor.  Also, I have a lisp function that previews the mail
headers for me, and I only want to see the mail icon when there is mail
that I have not yet previewed.

Woo-hoo!  I always like having the default behavior be my preference as
well.  Why would anyone want to do anything different from me? :-)
