Just a note that David Moore's patches seem to fix the hangs I was
seeing in shell buffers (etc.) when lazy-lock was being used.

19.15 looks damn close to ready to go to me.

I have a few things to say about the custom vs. edit-faces thing, but
was gone for a few days and I'm trying to dig out (damn there was a
lot of traffic on xemacs-beta!!).  Hopefully tomorrow...
