That's what I was referring to.  Most of the time jpegs couldn't be
loaded at all, even when they could be extracted successfully via
other means.  Crashes and other failures with jpegs are a leading
complaint with 19.14.

Since I turned off the in-memory loading, I haven't had a failure,
even on a jpeg that xv says `premature end of file' on (all testing
done with tm on MIME encoded articles).
