everything compiled OK.  Seems to work fine except that it for some
reason is eating huge amounts of memory and not giving it back.  It
seems like it is related to gnus, but I'm not sure yet.

This is with linux 2.0.29 libc 5.4.23 and gcc 2.7.2.1.  Anyone seen
this?  (huge meaning it got to 56megs and ran out of memory)

Have I missed a patch? :) (I could have with all the traffic)
