I greatly prefer setting colors, etc. in lisp (and wish I could set I
could set them all there) for several reasons.  One reason is that
I can start up an XEmacs on someone else's console and have it come up
with fonts the correct size, the correct colors (i.e. mine) rather
than their humongous fonts and/or horrible colors.

BTW, this is one reason I'd much rather see screen shots of people's
setups rather than see elisp or X resources that people use.  I have
to say that I'm just not going to take the time to make whatever mods
I have to to my stuff just so I can see what other folks use.  I just
don't have time.
