No, of course, there's no way to please everyone. But this is a major
change from the current default, and I think that in every case where
a major change is contemplated, the burden of proof is on those
arguing for the change. And, yes, I can use .Xdefaults, but so can
you. The first-time user probably can't. I think that dark a
background is a bad thing and shouldn't be the default.
