I have some strange problems with efs.

They depend, stangly enought, on the way I lock into my system.
from the console there are now problems, but login in via an xterm
starting a (login) shell, it will bug out. First of all the symptoms:

efs hangs after connecting to the host, giving the user while waiting
for the password prompt (as it seems) If I interrupt efs, the ftp
buffer gives the following: (doing a find-file ftp@ftp:)

--Multipart_Mon_Feb_24_22:04:31_1997-1
Content-Type: application/octet-stream
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="efs.ftp"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

As it seems, the efs is disturbed by the trailing garbage in front of
the prompts. This never happened with ange-ftp!

Now I thing that something in my /etc/profile or ~/.bash_profile cause
this, as from a simple (non-login shell) xterm at the console this
will not happen. *But* *what* *could* *this* *be?* Any help is
/greatly/ appreciated.
