I cannot reproduce this with the options you indicate:
  ...
  Should XEmacs use the GNU version of malloc?            no
  (User chose not to use GNU allocators.)
  ...
  Using the union type for Lisp_Objects.

I'm not sure what's required for building with `--with-xim=xlib',
perhaps I should just try it and see what breaks.


Do you get segfaults in newsgroups like fj.* or alt.chinese.text.big5,
or in Gnus mail groups or both?
