No, I did not, I assume you're talking about the --error-checking and
--debug flags.  I'm recompiling XEmacs now, and I've downloaded b3,
and 20, and will test on those as well.

Just to make sure we're all looking at apples, are there any other
options I should give to configure/gmake?

I use:
./configure  --site-libraries=/usr/local/lib --site-includes=/usr/local/include --error-checking=none --debug=no

gmake CFLAGS="-O4 -mschedule=7100"

I know the compiler flags will be system dependant, but someone else
might have better ideas.
