I can't find the material that made me wary of it.  I seem to recall
discussion about the unwise way it shared data between successive
users of the console.  In the absence of data to back my statement up,
I'll retract it.  I definitely misremembered the recent Doom exploit,
it's unfair to blame GPM for some bozo writing a setuid root shell
script over it.

I still don't have much of a use for it.  The only Linux machines
which don't run X11 around here are servers and don't have mice, etc.
