Subject: problems with gnuclient -nw on reverse video displays
X-Mailer: VM 6.33 under 20.3 "Bratislava" XEmacs Lucid (beta18)

I have two problems with gnuclient I'd like to report.

The first is that often, 'gnuclient -nw' will just hang when I run it
until I hit C-c, at which time it comes up.

Secondly, on some displays, I will often get unreadable text. Under
the windows ssh client, the status line is black on black. Under a
reverse video xterm, the file mode bits in a dired listing will be
black on black. Under linux console mode with ssh, I will get black on
black text, although I just tried it now on local console and it seems
fine (still exhibiting the hanging problem, though).
