* Is /etc/xemacs a good enough package default location? Other
possibilities might be /var/lib/xemacs or /var/xemacs,
  /usr/local/lib/xemacs-packages, /usr/local/lib/emacs-packages or where?

* How well does Basic Library detection work? (eg. lisp/prim,
lisp/utils, etc.) I admit to being completely confused by the code
detecting where the basic lisp libraries/directories are. After
making my final changes in this area for beta15, I have not been
able to reproduce a case where anything other than the first or
  second directory is checked:

  `f-e-r-i-1: /b/XEmacs/xemacs-20.0/src/xemacs'

I see two checks when the architecture dependent executables are
split from the architecture independent files.

If someone has a situation where more than two of these messages
(prefixed by "f-e-r-i-1:" is being printed, I'd like to know more
about what directory structure you are installing into.

This question goes doubly to people like Barry Warsaw who have had
problems installing XEmacs in the past. Is everything (now) kosher?

* Info mode. I don't like the incompatibility between `localdir' and
`dir' as the index file in an info directory. Any suggestions
about how to phase out use of `localdir' and phase in use of `dir'
to reduce breakage with the past gratefully accepted.

* Integration with existing /usr/info and/or /usr/local/info
directories. I'd like to hear about what people have done in this
area, particularly with respect to portability between the emacsen.
