Just over this weekend I learned about the wonders of running
gnuclient -nw via a terminal window from home, attaching to my Gnus
splitting and NoCeM'ing XEmacs `Athens' grinding away in my
office-workstation.

Startup time is the big winner, especially with fancy mail splitting
and NoCeM active.

Now I tried this for the first time with `Stockholm', both for the
gnuserv and gnuclient.

Starting gnuclient -nw on the SS5 via a terminal emulator window from
an IBM Thinkpad gives me a single window with a height of 1 (one)
line.

xemacs -nw via the terminal emulator starts up fine and gives me a
window fitting perfectly into the emulator window.
(window-height) gives 23 in the *scratch* buffer covering the emulator
window.

My never-failing female intuition told me to look at stty size. It
turned out to be unknown. Which is what it has always been in this
emulator window.

aichner@midnight(1) stty size
unknown mode: size
aichner@midnight(2)

Anyway:

When I set

stty rows 24

in the terminal emulator window on the SS5 and then start
gnuclient -nw
it will come up covering the whole terminal emulator window as it was
one Capitol ago (Athens) without this magic.

Any ideas?

Adrian
