SYNOPSIS OF ACTIVITY
--------------------

             Solar activity was at low levels. The largest event was
       a C2.6 flare that was optically uncorrelated, erupted at 0400
       UT. Furthermore, there were two B-class flares both optically
       uncorrelated.

            Solar activity forecast:  solar activity is expected to be
       very low to low levels.

            The geomagnetic field has been at quiet levels for
       the past 24 hours.

            Geophysical activity forecast:  the geomagnetic field is
       expected to be at quiet levels.

            HF propagation conditions were normal over all regions.
       Although levels of geomagnetic activity have been very stable
       and quiet over the last several days, the ionosphere is weak
       due to low values of the solar flux.  Depressions in MUF are
       presently varying between approximately 20 and 35 percent over
       most regions.  Overall propagation will continue to be
       near-normal for the next three days (through 26 May inclusive),
       although propagation on the higher frequencies will be more
       difficult as a result of the depressed MUFs.
