SYNOPSIS OF ACTIVITY
--------------------

Solar activity was low. Region 7360 (S19W62) produced the
       largest activity with a C4/SF flare at 16/0325UT and a C4.7/1F
flare at 16/0605UT. A surprise C1/1F flare was also seen at
S22E40 in an unnumbered Region (SN15). Region 7371 (S11W24) was
       assigned.

Solar activity forecast: solar activity is expected to be
mostly low. Regions 7360 and 7362 (S07W76) have the best chance
of C-class activity. Region 7362 has a small chance of an
       isolated M-class flare.

The geomagnetic field has been at mostly quiet levels
       for the past 24 hours.

Geophysical activity forecast: the geomagnetic field is
expected to be quiet to unsettled for the next 24 hours.
Activity is expected to increase to unsettled to active levels
for the remainder of the period because of a well positioned
       coronal hole.

                        Major-Severe Storm 01/01/10

HF propagation conditions were near-normal over the last
24 hours. Minor signal degradation will be possible over the
next three days due to anticipated enhancements in geomagnetic
activity. High and polar latitude paths will be affected the
most. Conditions should be least stable during the local night
       hours over these paths.
